Oh look, another legitimate scene from Man of Steel. So great I got to be in this movie. I guess I just forgot to tell people, is all. But here is proof. Really REAL proof. I love things that are real. Like me being in the movie. Hopefully my scenes don’t get cut out.
Just a reminder that this PINHEAD painting is still up for ‘Silent Auction’ - Not too many bids on it yet, but I’m going to keep this going for at least another week. Also, just to mention, What I will be doing with it is a little like when you sell something on eBay and set a ‘reserve price’ for it, where, if no bids meet that Reserve Price, I won’t be selling it. Say for some reason the top bid was $50, there is no way for the time, materials and effort put in to it I could sell it for that cheap, of course. New Tattoo!!!! Got some more Kryptonian text on me to match the Kryptonian on my right arm!! Yeah, I’m a nerd, and very proud of it!! This one translates as ‘Last Son of Krypton’. The one of my right arm says ‘Son of Jor-El’. Yay Superman!
Look who likes my art!! Kevin Smith and Jay Mewes - yup Jay n Silent Bob holding up one of my drawings!! The drawing was a commission for a friend of a ‘zombie Jay and Silent Bob’, and she got to meet them yesterday and she brought the pic and said Smith went nuts for it and loved it!!! Very, very cool. Smith also, at one point on Twitter, saw and ‘favorited’ a Tweet I Tweeted of the RED STATE painting I had made. That’s 2 interactions. 3rd one will be us hanging out. Mark my words.

ART LESSON # 222 - Sometimes it’s just not meant to be. And that’s okay. I tried 3 times and put a lot of hours in, but it just wasn’t meant to be. No real reason why - I just couldn’t get the details right, couldn’t get the shading to work at all, and in a fit of fury, all 3 canvases (that I HAD planned on reusing) succumbed to artistic rage. ‘Goodybye! Goodbye! Goodbye!’. Smashy smashy. It’s frustrating that, when the thing you do best doesn’t work out & ya can’t figure out why. It’s like a loving, loyal dog all of a sudden turning on it’s master. But, I put these up as a reminder that sometimes in life, even when you really WANT something to work out, it’s not meant to be, and you just let it go and move on to the next thing. (side note - the Edward Scissorhands piece I am working on seems to be inching his way closer and closer to this wall)
Sometimes the ‘third time’ is not the charm. Sometimes, when a painting doesn’t work out 3 times in a row, you move on to other things, and come back to it another day. 4th Time’s the Charm, perhaps. perhaps, perhaps. where’s the whiskey? (oh look, none here. I guess you’ll do, coffee. I guess you’ll do) Ya’ll other artists know m’pain??
