I entered this into the RBC art competition, but I would have heard by now if I qualified but I guess I didn’t. The story behind this painting is that is based on a photo I took when I worked at Sony. Something in my gut said ‘take a picture of this’. It was a kind of depressing place to be, & I went through hard times in life from time to time, so this door was near the back of the warehouse & I used to drive to up, raise my truck up so I could see out the windows & have mental conversations with this tree. Sounds ridiculous, I know, but hey, people have conversations with an imaginary with with a big white beard, so I guess it’s not too crazy. I trust nature. Anyway, in December I was having a nice convo with his swell tree with whom I would always seek the council of, and it ‘told’ me that ‘very big, life altering things are about to happen to you. Everything is about to change, but in the end, it;s going to be something very amazing.” Then of course in the next month & a half, I went through a break-up & lost my job. I’m very excited to see the amazing stuff that’s going to happen as a result. Because I trust this tree & it’s advice above all, I titled it ‘The Only One Who Told Me The Truth’.
